Terms & Conditions (UK) — Copy/Paste Version

Terms & Conditions

1. Scope

These Terms & Conditions apply to all contracts between R.I. Global Ventures Ltd. (trading as “The Telephone Box”) (“Seller”, “we”, “us”) and customers (“Customer”, “you”) for the sale of British street furniture (in particular K6 telephone boxes, pillar boxes and letter boxes) via website, email, phone or other communication channels.

2. Quotes and contract formation

Our quotes (in particular by email) are non-binding unless expressly stated otherwise. A contract is formed when the Customer confirms our quote in writing and pays the agreed deposit. Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for 4 weeks.

3. Prices and taxes

Prices are stated in the currency shown in the quotation or invoice. Whether VAT, sales tax or comparable taxes are shown or charged depends on the individual quotation, the delivery country, the customer's status and the applicable tax rules.

For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, import duties, customs charges, import VAT, local taxes, clearance fees or similar costs may apply and, where legally permissible, are borne by the Customer.

4. Payment, payment methods, fees

A deposit of EUR 1,000 or GBP 850 is due upon order placement. The deposit is non-refundable, as placing the order triggers sourcing/reservation and the commissioning of restoration/logistics, which are partially paid in advance.

The remaining balance is due before delivery. By agreement, the remaining balance may be paid in up to 4 monthly instalments, and delivery takes place only after full payment has been received.

Payment can be made by bank transfer (SEPA/international) and, where offered, via Stripe/PayPal. Fees charged by certain payment methods (e.g., PayPal/Stripe) are borne by the Customer where stated in the quote and/or invoice. Payments are deemed made only once finally credited.

5. Delivery, shipping costs, route changes, unloading, risk

5.1 Delivery and unloading

Delivery is typically curbside. Unloading and any required lifting equipment must be arranged by the Customer at their own cost and risk. On-site installation/assembly is not included.

5.2 Shipping costs based on carrier quotation (re-quote / rerouting)

Shipping costs shown in a quote are based on the carrier quotation available at the time of quoting.

If, prior to dispatch, the carrier changes routing, surcharges or pricing due to circumstances outside our reasonable control (including but not limited to geopolitical events, security risks, sanctions, port/route closures, carrier restrictions, or force majeure), we reserve the right to adjust the shipping charge to reflect the updated carrier quotation.

We will inform you without undue delay. You may then choose to:

(a) proceed with the updated shipping cost, or

(b) cancel the order prior to dispatch.

If you cancel prior to dispatch, we will refund payments received minus any non-recoverable costs already incurred (for example, crating/packaging already completed, carrier booking fees, or restoration/sourcing costs already committed). The deposit remains non-refundable as stated in section 4.

5.3 Passing of risk

Risk passes in accordance with applicable law; for consumers, risk passes upon delivery to the consumer.

6. Transport damage

Transport damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos.

7. Product information and accessories

These are original, used historical items. Telephone boxes are delivered empty as standard (no interior fit-out). Optional accessories (e.g., lighting incl. heat protection, telephone, backboard, custom colour) are only included if expressly listed in the quote.

8. Warranty and liability

Statutory warranty rights apply. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence, liability is limited to foreseeable, typical damages.

9. Retention of title

Goods remain our property until paid in full.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may bring legal proceedings in respect of these Terms & Conditions in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, where legally permissible.

11. Important notes

11.1 Governing law (clarification): These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales (see section 10). Any references to German law or German courts do not apply to purchases made under these UK Terms & Conditions.

11.2 Shipping cost notice (for quotes/invoices): Shipping costs are based on carrier quotations and may change prior to dispatch due to rerouting, surcharges, or circumstances outside our control. An updated carrier quotation will be provided and must be confirmed before dispatch.
